Dear Mr. (?Dr.) Sobel,

Excellent, scientific read that surpasses most of the reads on Medium. Where did you get your intense interest from? I am a retired pathologist with some scientific knowledge and your presentation impressed my "science brain". Two points if I may:

1. Our gut bacteria are not an infection. An infection is when an infectious organism causes symptomatic disease. They are COMMENSUALS. They do not cause disease unless a biologic barrier is broken down. We have them on skin, in the mouth and throat and GI tract.

2. You introduced wonderful new terms. I would like to know which are the desireable gut microbiome bacteria and why. Perhaps in your next article.

Thank you for your insights,

Peter H. Dohan, MD
